Pass through hypnotically gorgeous, jaw-dropping, and equally thrilling winding roads making your drive bumpy to Spiti – “The middle land”. Witness the slow transformation from lush green hills of Kinnaur to barren brown landscapes of Spiti and then again to the greens of Manali will leave you spellbound.
A drive from the highest village to the last village is totally worth remembering as you breathe in the fresh mountain air while sitting on the isolated slopes of the last village surrounded by the magnificent landscapes. Feel the chills as you look down upon a tiny truck from Asia’s highest suspended Chicham bridge or cross the manually operated cable ropeway to Kibber village, Spiti makes a perfect powerpack for an adventurous vacation.

Day 1 – Arrival in Chandigarh

On arrival at Chandigarh where a representative will help you with the smooth transfers to the hotel. Check in to the hotel, rest for a while and go exploring the beautiful surroundings. You can head for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Chandigarh.

Day 2 – Chandigarh to Narkanda (175kms/ Approx. 5.5hrs)

Start early and head towards the Himalayas on the Himalayan Expressway. On the way, you will be passing through Chail, a hill station in the lower Himalayan range and home to beautiful flower orchards. After a short lunch break, you will head towards Narkanda, known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh. Apple and cherry trees line the roadsides and the tall Deodhar fir trees spread their sweet aroma all around. End the day after reaching the hotel in Narkanda.

Day 3 – Narkanda to Chitkul (185kms/ Approx. 6hrs)

Wake up early in the morning to experience one of the most beautiful sunrises. After a delicious breakfast, you will leave for one of the most beautiful views of Kinnaur Valley. Travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham from where you will take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’ for an amazing meal. Overnight stay and dinner at hotel/homestay in Chitkul.

Day 4 – Chitkul to Kalpa (60hrs/ Approx. 2.5hrs)

After having a hearty breakfast, you will leave for Kalpa. You will be driving back towards Karcham from where you will proceed deeper into the valley towards Powari. At Powari take a left to ride to ReoKong Peo, which is the main town of Kinnaur district from where you will proceed to Kalpa. Spend the night in the beautiful Kalpa village overlooking the Kinnaur Kailash mountains. Overnight stay at camp/homestay in Kalpa.

Day 5 – Kalpa to Kaza (210kms/ Approx. 5.5hrs)

After early morning breakfast, you will be leaving for Kaza passing through the beautiful Spiti Valley. En route, you will be taking the Indo-Tiber Highway and pass through the Khab bridge that marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River. Take a short stopover at Nako Lake and have lunch, after which you will be entering the Spiti Valley right as soon as you cross Sumdo. Just 3 Km after Sumdo, take a detour on the right through the gate to visit the 500-Year-Old Mummy in the Gue Village. You will then proceed towards Kaza where you will be spending the night at a hotel.

Day 6- Sightseeing in Kaza

Post early morning breakfast, go out to explore the spectacular beauty of Kaza. Visit the tourist spots including the Key Gompa Monastery that is nestled between the mountains in a bowl-shaped valley of the small village Langza in Spiti valley. Langza lies at a whopping height of about 14,500 ft. above sea level and also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road and the nearby Komic Village is the highest village. Hikkim is a village in the Spiti district, close to Kaza which is one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India. After exploring the beautiful villages of Langza, Hikkim and Komik, return back to your hotel in Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 7 – Kaza to Chandratal Lake via Kunzum La (100kms)

Post breakfast, you will proceed towards the next location which is the beautiful crescent-shaped Chandratal Lake. After passing Kunzum La you will take a right before Baltal to visit Chandratal Lake. The beauty of this place is spectacular and you will have to leave behind the vehicle and then trek for two kilometres to reach the lake. The lake is situated in the Spiti part of the Lahaul and Spiti district and is also called the “Moon Lake” due to its crescent shape. It is overlooked by the mountains on one side and a cirque on the other. After the sunset, the lake glitters under the starlit sky adding to its overall charm. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the camps near Chandratal.

Day 8 – Chandratal Lake to Manali via Rohtang (190kms/ Approx. 5hrs)

Today you will be leaving behind the Spiti Valley and drive towards Manali. On the way, you will be crossing the Rohtang Pass and reach Manali by the evening. After reaching Manali you will check in to the hotel and take some rest. Overnight stay at the hotel in Manali.

Day 9 – Manali to Chandigarh (310kms/ Approx. 8hrs)

After breakfast, you will be transferred from Manali to Chandigarh and will be reaching Chandigarh by evening. Once you reach Chandigarh, this marks the end of your memorable tour to Spiti Valley.
